TF46 DIGEX/STAFFEX 26

Fort Custer, Michigan — March 2026 — Applied Training Solutions (ATS) supported the TF 46 (C2CRE-B) DIGEX, a command post exercise conducted from March 13–16, 2026, at the Fort Custer Education Center, Fort Custer, Michigan.

The exercise brought together the 46th Military Police Command (MP CMD) and its subordinate headquarters to strengthen readiness and command capabilities in response to complex domestic incidents involving chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats.

ATS provided its ATSsim Training (Constructive Simulation) environment to replicate response force activities throughout the exercise. The platform enabled participants to operate within a realistic, data-driven training environment that mirrored real-world operational conditions.

The TF 46 DIGEX served as a sustainment Command Post Exercise (CPX) designed to challenge the 2-Star Headquarters of the 46th MP CMD in its role as the Command and Control, CBRN Response Enterprise – Bravo (C2CRE-B) Joint Task Force (JTF).

The training focused on preparing C2CRE-B for its upcoming participation in VIBRANT RESPONSE 26, where it will validate its readiness to execute its mission within the broader CBRN Response Enterprise.

The exercise scenario simulated a nuclear attack on San Francisco, California, requiring a coordinated federal response led by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Participants were tasked with managing the Department of Defense response under this complex and high-pressure environment.

The exercise leveraged a combination of simulation and collaboration tools, including:
• ATSsim Training
• Microsoft Teams
• Email and SharePoint

ATSsim Training enabled realistic simulation of:
• Force flow into the Joint Operations Area (JOA)
• Friendly force tracking of units and vehicles
• Logistics distribution and supply consumption
• Automated reporting to response cells

Additionally, ATSsim stimulated common operational picture (COP) systems such as MAVEN SS/GAIA, JADC2, and JACOP using dynamically updated KML, GeoJSON, and ESRI Feature Layers, ensuring an integrated and immersive operational picture.

ATSsim was chosen for its robust, cloud-based simulation capabilities and its ability to deliver scalable, high-fidelity training environments. Its integration with operational systems and ability to replicate real-world mission variables make it a critical tool for Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) training missions.

The exercise met its primary objectives.
Outcome: C2CRE-B and its subordinate command elements successfully executed command and control of assigned forces, demonstrating readiness to respond effectively to a complex CBRN incident.

Exercises like the TF 46 DIGEX highlight the importance of advanced simulation in preparing military and interagency partners for high-consequence events.

“As a leader in emergency preparedness training and readiness, ATS continues to actively work to deliver innovative, experience-based disaster-preparedness exercise solutions for local, state, and federal agencies to protect communities.”
