There’s no fooling around when we announce this month’s Employee Spotlight! For April, we would like to highlight our Contracts Manager, Brian P. Murphy!

Brian is responsible for the oversight, creation, negotiation, and execution of contract instruments and Teaming Agreements between Applied Training Solutions and our partners. He ensures ATS interests are protected, and our Stakeholders’ needs are met!

Brian says his biggest accomplishment at ATS and one of the things he has taken away from his military career is his ability to ‘Teach, Coach, and Mentor’ his peers. He wants to ensure those around him are successful too!

Brian was in the U.S. Army for 22 years, starting as a 19E M60 Tank Armor Crewman, going ‘Green to Gold,’ and retiring as a Major in 2008.

When Brian is not working hard on ATS contracts, he thoroughly enjoys spending time with his wife Tiffany playing Pickleball, going running with his three daughters, or studying the world economy.

When asked about his impression of the work ATS does, Brian states “ATS has established itself in the Department of Defense, NATO and the civil Emergency Response operations spheres as a world-class training provider with turn-key solutions at a reasonable price.”

He states that coworkers would be surprised to learn that he is in the top 10% in the world for weightlifting strength. He can bench press, deadlift, and squat 225 or more pounds!

“My definition of success is the lasting, positive impact on my family, friends, and others,” he says. “I endeavor to build strong, quality relationships with a high degree of trust to impart positive values and beliefs through shared life experiences. The legacy of these relationships will define if I was successful in life.”

If he could meet anyone, living or dead, Brian says he would love to meet General George Washington. He also states he cannot live without having purpose in life.

Last, but not least, his favorite and most frequently listened to song is “In the Air Tonight” by Phil Collins.
