For the March Employee Spotlight, we would like to highlight another one of our original company employees, Jon Ford. Jon has also been a dedicated member of the Applied Training Solutions team since early 2009.

He currently serves as the Program Manager for Training and Exercise (TREX) at ATS. Jon works with U.S. Army North at Fort Sam Houston, where he handles quite a bit in the G7 training section.

Jon says one of his biggest accomplishments is working as the product owner and subject matter expert on ATSsim Training, one of the primary training programs used by ATS to train units like ARNORTH in a variety of capacities.

His hidden talent is reading more than 1500 words per minute, and he has been working hard to perfect creating a great Keto Belgian waffle he says.

Before he worked with ATS, Jon states he was a “dinosaur” in the U.S. Army as a 19E and M1A1 Tanker and intelligence analyst. He was in the service 13 years total.

When he is not focused on his many hats at work, Jon loves spending time with his wife of almost 30 years, Kimberly, their four children, and two grandchildren. He also loves to golf and boat on the local lake when he can.

“ATS is committed to developing products and training to assist organizations in preparing for bad events in the future,” he says about the work ATS does.

He says his definition of success is ensuring his family, friends, and co-workers all have the information and tools to be empowered, productive Americans.

Jon states he cannot live without coffee or Kimberly (awwwww!). He would also love to become a master motorcycle mechanic which specializes in sports and racing machines.

We are grateful for the hard work Jon puts in day in and day out to keep up with things like the Defense Support to Civil Authorities Phase II course, being the C2 System/Simulation Integration SME for ARNORTH G7, and so much more. He is a true value-added employee, and we appreciate all he has done the last 15 years!
