Advisor Awareness Training / Anti-Terrorism Awareness Train the Trainer Course (A2T T3)

Applied Training Solutions (ATS), in partnership with the 2nd Security Force Assistance Brigade (2SFAB), successfully concluded the Advisor Awareness Training / Anti-Terrorism Awareness Train the Trainer Course (A2T T3), conducted from March 28 to April 12, 2025. The training aimed to elevate advisor readiness in identifying and mitigating both physical and cyber threats while operating in complex global environments.

The A2T T3 course was held in a hotel conference room in Fayetteville, North Carolina, with practical exercises (PEs) conducted throughout the surrounding area. The training focused on developing awareness and protective capabilities for 2SFAB Advisors, preparing them for threats they may face during overseas deployments.

ATS provided critical instruction in digital device hardening, force protection strategies, threat detection, and social media and digital footprint management. The training also included file and partition encryption techniques, vulnerability assessments of physical structures, and safe traveler protocols. In a unique twist, ATS deployed Independent Contractors (ICs) as a red cell to challenge students with realistic adversarial scenarios—both physically and digitally—throughout the course.

The A2T T3 course is designed to be executed off-post, near each SFAB’s home station. This approach ensures relevance and accessibility while emphasizing the hybrid nature of today’s threats—cyber and physical alike.

Delivered under the Enterprise Training Service Contract (ETSC) IDIQ Contract via the A2T Task Order, the training is a key component of the Army’s efforts to enhance situational awareness at home and abroad. The Security Force Assistance Command (SFAC) supplied a suite of government-furnished property (GFP) to support the course, while ATS secured the training venue.

Throughout the course, participants demonstrated growing proficiency in identifying risks, mitigating threats, and safeguarding communications with their teams and families. The inclusion of red cell interactions and PEs ensured a hands-on, realistic training environment where students could apply and refine their skills.

Graduates of the A2T T3 course now return to their units equipped to share their knowledge and mentor fellow advisors, amplifying the reach and impact of the training.

ATS is proud to deliver this critical training, addressing a significant readiness gap identified during the Chief of Staff of the Army’s 39 Program of Instruction (POI) Review. As hybrid threats continue to evolve, this training ensures that Advisors remain resilient and ready—physically and digitally—wherever their missions take them.
