HAMPTON, VA – Applied Training Solutions, LLC (ATS), has been awarded contract to support Uganda People’s Defence Air Force as part of Team ATS, which consists of ATS, Skycore Aviation, and Redstone Technologies. Team ATS will provide UH-1 Huey II flight and maintenance training for the Uganda People’s Defence Air Force (UPDAF). Specifically, Team ATS will provide Initial Entry Rotary Wing and Huey II transition training for UPDAF Pilots, as well as specialized training for Instructor Pilots. Additionally, Team ATS will provide Level 1 and Level 2 helicopter maintenance training for UPDAF Huey II mechanics.
The Uganda Huey II training is part of US Security Cooperation programs and security assistance activities. Building Partnership Capacity (BPC) provides defense services for the purposes of building the capacity of the partner nation security forces and transition their capability to conduct counterterrorism, counter drug and counter insurgency operations, or to support US military and stability operations, multilateral peace operations and other programs.
The Uganda Huey II training contract is a task order on the Enterprise Training Services Contract, a multiple award Indefinate Delivery/Indefinate Quantity (ID/IQ) contract that serves to provide training-related services in support of Army Geographic Combatant Command Theater Security Cooperation programs by building partner capacity and assisting strategic allies in transforming their militaries to operate with US forces.
