JTF-CS deployed in the vicinity of Atlanta, GA, accepts operational control of Defense CBRN Response Force and other T-10 DOD Forces to conduct CBRN operations. The JTF-CS will support FEMA directed missions in response and recovery prior to the transition of responsibility to civil authority.
ATS provided the complete range of event planning, execution, and review (Planning, Scripting, Constructive Simulation, Observer/Controller, Subject Matter Expert, and After-Action Review) for Determined Response/Sudden Response, based on guidance from the Commander, Joint Task Force Civil Support(JTF-CS).

PROCESS
The exercise used multiple technologies including ATSsim V3,USNORTHCOM Geo Portal, Email and VoIP. ATSsim was selected because it provides the training audience real time interaction with subordinate and parent organizations. With the ability to have simulated internal email and chat functions, the team was able to replicate the Force Flow (units flying and/or driving) and it allowed for viewing of crewed vehicles executing missions into into the Joint Operations Area.

Purpose
Determined Response-22 is a US Army Forces Command (FORSCOM)-directed Command Post Exercise (CPX) to sustain proficiency of the
on-mission DCRF Task Force HQ and enhance command relationships. The exercise is nested under JTF-CS’ sustainment exercise SUDDENRESPONSE-22 (SR) replicating phases 0, II, and III of US Northern Command (USNORTHCOM)Operations Plan (OPLAN) 3500-17, with the focus being the transition from Phase II to Phase III.SUDDEN RESPONSE-22 is the preparatory exercise leading to VIBRANT RESPONSE, the JTF-CS annual confirmation exercise.
Objective:
DR-22 focused on transition from Phase II to Phase III of USNORTHCOM Operations Plan.SR-22 is a preparatory exercise leading to Vibrant Response annual exercise.
Outcome
Teams from Task Force Aviation, Logistics, Medical and Operations rehearsed force and equipment deployment, life-saving operations and web-based collaborative tools to ensure their ability to execute the Defense Support of Civil Authority mission they assumed June 1, 2021. The DCRF consists of roughly 5,200 personnel from military units located throughout the nation who come together to assist fellow Americans in catastrophic events.
